The uploaded Hallicrafters advertisement, "5 Years Ahead of Its Time," with the wording: "EXACTLY five years ago - in 1940 - Hallicrafters introduced a very high frequency communication receiver with a range of 27.8 to 143 Mc." is worded somewhat confusingly. However, the receiver it mentions, that was introduced in 1940, is the Hallicrafters S-27. The S-36 was introduced in 1942, but the war would have delayed much of its production until 1945, hence five years after the 1940 introduction of the S-27.
