Hallicrafters model S-76U is an AC operated multi-band superheterodyne communications type receiver.
Coverage: 0.538-1.58, 1.72-4.9,4.6-13, 12-34MHz, 2nd IF= 50kHz, reception gap from 1.58-1.72MHz because of the 1st IF frequency, Bandspread 80 to 10 meters, huge S-Meter, first of a line of double conversion receivers using the 50kHz L/C filter system, 170 USD in 1951, 200 USD.
