Hallictafters model S-78A (run1) is an AC operated AM-FM superheterodyne receiver.
This unit is very similar to the S-78, major differences are the way the components in the r.f. section are laid out and the use of a 6CB6 instead the 6AU6 as the r.f. amplifier, all other specifications the same as the S-78.
