  • Notes
  • This is a special version of a radio manufactured by Trans-aire in 1964 to fill a US government contract for 100,000 units to be delivered to Vietnam during the last four months of 1964.  The jacks provided in the cabinet were for an external antenna and ground, which apparently were needed for reception in Vietnam.  Trans-aire typically branded their radios under various trade names.  This one was branded as "Eastern".   Essentially the same radio with the brand name of "Montvale", but with only an external power jack, was sold domestically in the US during approximately the same time period.
