• Helvar was the only Finnish radio manufacturer, which produced some models of pendel (= super regenerativ) type of FM converter in 1951-54. Those could be used like FM-upgrade for some Helvar radio models made earlier as AM only. Helvar also included  this converter already on production line into some radio models, which had options to do this easily. 

  The model 534 was the last of converter types and it was also techically more advanced of their pendel family. Anyhow the life period of pendel converters was very short. Regular FM transmission in Finland started in 1952.
