• Bemerkung

• This portable from HMV Homebush NSW uses a 47 Ohm, 4 inch circular speaker. The battery supply was from a dual 7.5 Volt battery (Eveready 2510) to provide 15 Volts with the chassis positive. The circuit is indicated on the inside of the radio as JA-1H and that specifies a 48 Ohm speaker. The two OA90 diodes are the detector and for the AGC.

  Tuning is via a "Handspan" direct drive dial, 86 mm in diameter. All 6 Australian states are covered on the dial with the frequency (530 - 1750* kHz) indicated only in small print, numbers 6 to 17 on the outer edge of the upper half of the dial. The Volume Control, which incorporates the On/Off switch, has a red segment visible when power is available to the set. The set is obviously for local use with only 6 transistors and a 140 mm Ferrite Rod Antenna with no provision for an external antenna or earth. Height including handle is 6". Price & weight include battery.
