  • Notes
  • Model 510 gramophone with pleated Lumière cone, manufactured October 1924 - October 1925. The pleated Lumière cone was adopted on two models for the English market; the table model 460 and the cabinet model 510, each of which was available in oak or mahogany. They represented a complete break with the traditional style of H.M.V. cabinets. The cone was fragile and, at the time of its introduction, its superiority over the normal internal horn machines was minimal. It could not compete with the improved models of late 1925 and was relegated to the background. The cabinets, however, survived, with internal horn tonearms, such as the 461 and 511.
