  • Notes
  • "Modern Console" gramophone, H.M.V., 1935. Although mechanically similar to the 157 of 1927 (it was, in effect, a simplified retractable model), the 153 was more modern in appearance than traditional, but also poorer. A cheap machine, it was the sad swansong of the mobile acoustic gramophone.

Original description from: “Fonografi e Grammofoni” by Christopher Proudfoot, Italian edition “Silvana Editoriale” 1980.

Grammofono "Modern Console", H.M.V., 1935.
