- Notes
-
R.700M is a SSB/DSB communications receiver, providing continuous coverage drom 100kHz to 30MHz, with operation down to 15kHz at reduced performance. Designed by IMRC in the early 70s, it met specification MPT.1201 for use in the British Mechant Ships.
The design uses triple conversion with fixed IFs of 37.3MHz with a roofing filter, 10.7MHz where the main mode filters are located and 450KHz where there is a supplementary CW filter. The synthesiser generates 37.3 - 67.3MHz using three VCOs, a logic chain, phase detector and a reference source which is a variable inductor tuned VFO. Frequency readout is a frequency counter using HP integrated divider/display circuits with offset logic.
