The Jerrold-Texscan Model 727 Field Strength Meter is a tunable RF voltmeter for measuring signal levels between 10 Microvolts and 3 Volts in the range of 5 - 216 MHz in 10 ranges.
The range can be extended with a special plug-in converter to cover 470 - 890 MHz.
The instrument consists of a tuner/local oscillator unit, a balanced mixer, and IF amplifier and a peak detector measuring circuit. It also includes a video detector whose output is available at a terminal. A discriminator, audio amplifier and a loudspeaker are also incorporated.
