Crystal radio in a wooden box with a black top panel marked "J.K. CORP" and "PAT. PENDING". Made by the Joy-Kelsey Corp., Chicago, Ill. It is identical to radios branded Jewel, Serenado and Victor, all were marked J. K. CORP. They appeared on the market c. 1922. This radio uses an enclosed crystal detector, which is different than most of the other versions of this radio that you will see on the web and in books. This crystal detector appears to be the same as the one used on the "Skeezix Radio Toy" made by the Joy-Kelsey Corp. in 1924. Also, the condenser internally connected to the headphone posts in the more common versions has been eliminated in this radio.
