Although this model is labeled with the manufacturer's brand JVC on the front and back, it could probably be a fake. There are no references to the model designation PC-9W in terms of manufacturer documentation such as service documents or brochures.
Furthermore, the manufacturing quality and visual appearance do not correspond to the standard of comparable JVC sets from this era.The front panel is clearly based on these models:
- Dyras Melody 7180 [OIRT]
- Unknown HK Melody 7180 [CCIR]
- Radiotone RCX-4
- Unknown worldwide Happy Sound DS7
Whereas the rear differs significantly from the above models.
There is still a need for clarification here to determine the actual origin of this model. Who knows more?
