- Notes
- The Lafayette Courier A-14 is a 6-Tube AC/DC Superheterodyne and covers 190 to 550 meters. Three-Gang Variable Condenser, built-in aerial. The RF coils are wound so that the set reaches to 190 meters instead of 200 meters. It brings police calls in some localities. AVC (Automaitc Volume Control). 3 gang variable condenser not for a HF amp but for antenna tuning of the fixed antenna. Beautifully grained walnut is used for the front and side panels with an attractive speaker grill in a contrasting colored mahagony. Two narrow lines of marquetry inlay emphasize the simple yet effective lined of the cabinet. A similar set but for 190 - 2000 m is featured on page 22 as A-19 (other case, other tubes). The A-14 Courier is listed at $ 58.00 but the Lafayette price is $ 22.95. There is also a "Suede Carrying Case" for $ 1.50. See details for the models of this catalog.
