  • The Lafayette catalog calls this model 5 tube Jr. DX'er Super-Het, which is a chassis without tubes and speaker. Needed is a dynamic loud speaker having a field resistance of 1800 ohms. The Junior DX'er was described by "Radio News". Two knobs, vertically placed in the center of the chassis. This Superheterodyne has a 3 gang variable condenser because of pre-selection. It is interesting to see that here Lafayette uses the same term "Super-Het" for a real Superheterodyne and above this on the same page for the Y22037 which is a TRF.

The model Jr. DX'er-5 kit is listed at $ 32.50 but the Lafayette price is $ 12.95 plus tubes for $ 2.95 and speaker for $ 2.95. See details for the models of this catalog.
