Lemo 00.250 (NIM-CAMAC CD/N 549) series miniature coaxial connectors are used extensively in particle physics and nuclear research establishments, as well as by the telecommunications, space research and medical equipment industries. The series includes a wide range of models, all having 50 Ω impedance and the same push-pull self-latching system.
The model EPN.00.250.NTN is particularly useful in applications where a high density of connectors is required. It is a straight socket for press mounting in pairs on both sides of a printed circuit board. The socket has two mounting pins on the diagonal of a square of side 0.2 in (5.08 mm), such that the pins of one socket align with the holes in its neighbour on the opposite side of the board. PCBs of thickness 1.3 to 1.7 mm can be accommodated, which results in a centre-to-centre spacing for the pair of connectors of 8.3 to 8.7 mm. The centre-to-centre spacing of the connectors on the same side of the board can be as little as 7 mm. The connectors are made of nickel-plated brass with PTFE insulation and are specified for a temperature range from -55 to 260˚ C.
