  • Notes
  • This is a Leutz Universal Transoceanic Phantom Special Receiver comprised of three Leutz Units: a Shortwave (SW) Unit with plug-in coils (e.g. a frequency converter), a Type 9 Receiver Unit, and a Type L B/C Current Supply Unit (e.g. an AC power supply unit). The SW Unit uses 2-tubes and 6-plug-in coils to cover a wavelength range of 15 to 200-meters. The Type 9 Receiver Unit uses 9-tubes as a Tuned Radio Frequency (TRF) receiver tuned to the Intermediate Frequency (IF) output of the SW Unit (200 to 550 meters using the Leutz “A” coils in the Type 9). The 2-tube Type L B/C Current Supply Unit allows the receiver to operate using household 110-Volt AC power and a 6-Volt A-battery. This is a 13-tube Superheterodyne Receiver.
