A hi-fi stereo receiver with an AM/FM stereo tuner with analogue dial and an integrated amplifier with power output of 2 x 70 watts RMS into 8 ohms, housed in a metal cabinet (a WC-22 walnut cabinet optional). The preamplifier and power amplifier sections can be separated. With Signal Strength and FM Tuning meters, jacks for headphones and Dubbing, Gyro Touch tuning, Bass, Mid and treble tone controls, Hi Blend, Low & Hi Filters, Loudness, Mono, Muting, Main & Remote Speakers. On the back, an AM ferrite rod antenna, AM and FM antennae terminals, RCA phono sockets for input phono1 and 2 (MM) and Aux, for input/output for 2 Tapes, for FM Quadradial output, Main In/Pre Out, terminals for 2 pairs of loudspeakers, switched and unswitched AC outlets.

Das Spitzenmodell der für das Modelljahr 1972 vorgestellten 22xx Serie. Dieses Gerät wurde mit kleinen Änderungen bis 1975 gebaut. Es gab gravierte oder bedruckte, alu- oder champagnerfarbene ("gold-anodized") Frontblenden. Die Ausgangsleistung des 2270 wurde vom Hersteller, sehr konservativ, mit 2 x 70 Watt Dauerleistung bzw 2 x 105 Watt Musikleistung, nach RMS (20-20.000Hz) an 8 Ohm angegeben. Ein zeitgenössischer Test der HiFi Stereofonie vom Juli 1973 ergab eine Dauerleistung von 2 x 90 Watt an 8 Ohm. An 4 Ohm wurden, mit einem Klirrfaktor von unter 1%, 2 x 140 Watt gemessen.
3-fache, kanalgetrennte, Klangregelung, Vor und Endstufe auftrennbar, Mittenanzeige, Feldstärkeanzeige umschaltbar als Reflexionsanzeige ("Multipath") zur Einstellung einer motorbetriebenen Außenantenne. Leistungsaufnahme 500 Watt.
