The Marantz CD-63B hi-fi stereo Compact Disc Player is a facelift version of the the Marantz CD63, the first Compact Disc Player announced by Philips in 1982. It is identical to the Philips CD101 Compact Disc Player, the facelift version of the Philips CD100 launch model, but housed in a black case with Marantz badges. All four players have the same Philips first generation chipset, the facelift versions have the CDM-0 or the later CDM-1 CD player mechanism. With push button keys for Play/Next, Pause, Stop/CM (Clear Memory), Repeat, REV, FWD, Select, Cancel and Store (for storing tracks when compiling a programme). 15 LED track indicators, LED indicators for Pause, Error and Repeat. On the back, RCA phono sockets for Line Output.
With Philips CDM-0 or CDM-1 CD player mechanism and first generation Philips chipset.
