Transmitter-Receiver type A MK.II or A MK.II* in suitcase, made in England by the Marconi Co., parachuted in France for the "Resistance" network during the Second World War. Instructions and diagrams in French.
The transceiver comprises the following modules:
Vibro-converter box
This module is equipped with a vibrator and connects an external 6 V battery to the internal AC mains module. The converter is an external box, not contained in the suitcase.AC mains module
The mains transformer has 5 taps: 100, 120, 200, 220 and 240 V. Additionally there is a +10 V setting to cover voltages between and above those mentioned. The module uses two type 4c/82 selenium rectifiers.Receiver module
Tubes: 7Q7, 7H7, 7H7
Frequency range: 3 - 4.5 MHz and 6 - 9 MHz
Intermediate frequency: 600 kHzTransmitter module
Tube: 7C5
Frequency range: 3 - 4.5 MHz and 6 - 9 MHz
RF power: 6 W on the 3 - 4.5 MHz range, and 4 W otherwiseCurrently, the differences between types A MK.II and A MKII* are unknown; the technical papers are valid for both these versions.
