This is a 5KW Quenched Spark Gap, a part of the Navy Standard 500-cycle Spark Transmitters which were used in U.S. Navy land stations and large ship stations from about 1917 through the mid-1920s. It was made by the Marconi Wireless Telegraph Company of America (1899-1919).
