• The 9 MHz quartz filters "Golden Guardian" and "Silver Sentinel" produced by McCoy had two applications:

  • Selectivity improvement of KW receivers with 9 MHz intermediate frequency
  • Side band filtering after the push-pull modulator in SSB KW transmitters (Exciter).

  The "Golden Guardian" filter had a somewhat narrower transmission curve compared to the "Silver Sentinel" (see data sheets).

  In amateur radio circles, the McCoy filters in the 1960's were among the best known and most popular 9 MHz quartz filters.

  Die von der Fa. McCoy produzierten 9 MHz Quarzfilter "Golden Guardian" und "Silver Sentinel" waren für zwei Einsatzgebiete vorgesehen: 

  • Selektivitätsverbesserung von KW-Empfängern mit 9 MHz Zwischenfrequenz
  • Seitenbandfilterung nach dem Gegentakt- Modulator in SSB KW-Sendern (Exciter).

  Das "Golden Guardian" Filter besaß gegenüber dem "Silver Sentinel" eine etwas schmalere Durchlasskurve (siehe Datenblätter).

  In Amateurfunkkreisen zählten die McCoy Filter in den sechziger Jahren zu den bekanntesten und beliebtesten 9 MHz Quarzfiltern.
