  • A stereo hi-fi compact disc player housed in two cabinets, one 207A containing the CD transport and the system power supplies, the other 207B the DAC and additionally, a preamplifier. It can be used as a conventional CD player or its preamplifier with volume control can be connected directly to Meridian active loudspeakers. It has inputs for other hi-fi components which can be played through the preamplifier and active loudspeakers. It has remote control facilities and can be operated by the optional Meridian 209 Master Control. On the rear panel, RCA input sockets for Tape, Line In, RCA output sockets for Fixed Out, Tape Out and Variable Output, jack for headphones and Power On/Off switch.

    There are two releases, the Mk1 14 bit with red volume buttons and the Mk2 16 bit with yellow volume buttons. An MM/MC phono module was available for later examples after serial number K200001.
