  • Airborne Receiver for AN/ARC-502 VHF Radio.

Based on R-77/ARC-3 Receiver for ARC-3, it has been modified to a 24 channel version for th R.C.A.F.
The Radio receiver operates in the 100 - 156 MHz VHF range with AM reception. There are 24 preselected channels, arranged in 3 banks of 8 CR-18/U crystals each. Automatic tuning is accomplished by a motor-driven system that stops at a frequency between the 11th and the 18th harmonic of the crystal. To select the appropriate harmonic, the tuning wheels (behind the front lid) must be set to the desired frequency.
