The AN/CRC-7 is a battery operated handheld transceiver used for Air-Sea rescue work.
The headphone is used as a microphone on transmit, amplitude-modulated.
The transmitter works at a fixed frequency of 140.58 Mhz, crystal-controlled, and the receiver has a super-regenerative detector. Watertight and floating construction.
