  • Motorola 41-S "Sporter" is an early example of a personal portable reciever. The chassis uses octal bantam tubes and is housed in a wooden cabinet covered with artificial brown leather. The loop antenna is housed within the shoulder strap and is reported to be non-directional.

The reciever requires three proprietary batteries; one General No.2F1/Burgess No.2F for 1.5V A supply, one General No.20AAA9/Burgess No.W20PI for 30V B supply and one General No. 34AAA9/Burgess No. W34 for 51V B supply. Both B batteries are put in series for 81V of B supply.
