The National AGU Receiver is similar electronically to the National AGS, but instead of three individual coils for each band, the coil sets are assembled in a single unit. It also differs from the AGS in that it uses a National B Dial for tuning.
The National AGU, along with the National AGL, was listed as being "new" in advertising from July 1933 (QST). However, neither receiver was listed in the National Company Bulletin (catalog) No. 220, which came out in October of 1933, or Bulletin No. 240, which came out in October 1934;
