The Syncro 34-A shortwave converter is intended for use with radios that have a 5-pin tube at the detector (2nd detector in a superhet).
According to the directions on the label, a type 27 tube should be used on radios with a 2.5V tube at the (2nd) detector, and a type 37 tube should be used on radios with a 6.3V tube at the (2nd) detector.
