AM, SSB, CW transceiver on 80, 40, 20, 15 and 10 meter amateur bands. The 10 meter band is on four ranges. First IF is 3500 kHz to 4000 kHz, the second is 6020 kHz. Transistorized VFO with 2N706 and 2N2118 transistors. The carrier balance ajustment in NCX-5 is replaced in NCX-5 MKII by the carrier insertion ajustment. In the NCX-5 MKII, V10 and C7 are on module V501 near the VFO cover. An AC power supply, NCX-A, is on a separate unit which includes the speaker. DC/DC power supply available for mobile operation.
