The National 697 (Late) Power Supply was changed to incorporate the more modern 5Y3GT tube. The redesign came after WWII and was for the HRO 7 receiver. The 697 (Late) was available in either smooth gray or black wrinkle finish to match the receiver. It was typically referred to as a "doghouse" power supply, due to its shape.
