The RBL-6 is electronically identical to the RBL-5 except for the rectifier. It receives CW and MCW signals from 15-600 kHz in five bands. Type -46235 [RBL-6] Receiver is similar to Type -46161-B [RBL-5] Receiver except for mechanical construction. Differences are:
- Front panel mounted to receiver chassis.
- Fitted with shock mounts.
- Chassis and metal cased components mounted thereon are cadmium plated.
- Provision is made for the use of either a short or long antenna connected to concentric jack J-104
