The set was designed by T.A. Gamble (G3DBL).
The first VR65A valve is used with a crystal diode in a reflex circuit, the second VR65A is an AF amplifier, while the two halves of the VR54 are paralleled as a half-wave rectifier. An aerial trimmer is provided, across which an additional 50pF capacitor should be connected if a short aerial is used. The set has a live chassis. Cream and brown cabinets were available.
