  • Notes
  • The Panasonic FF-394 Light Scope is a small portable monocular microscope used to inspect the end faces of optical fibre connectors having a 2.5 mm ferrule, such as ST, FC and SC types. The magnification of 100x is sufficient to detect gross imperfections or contamination, but not for the detailed quality control of the polish, especially for single mode fibres, which requires a magnification of at least 500x.

Illumination is provided by a 2.2 V 0.25 A MB-22N nipple bulb powered by two AA batteries. The battery switch is activated when the ABS battery case and the lens case are unfolded. A blue filter is incorporated for colour compensation and the optical glass objective lens can be moved up and down by a knob for focus adjustment.
