  • Test-Export of 1000 radios for the US-Market. The decision made at that time was the first step in opening up and expanding the U.S. market. Earphone available.

    Note that the National brand could not be used in the USA and subsequently Panasonic was created as a brand.

    Model PL-420B uses a National BL-145 (Eveready 467, RCA VS-016, Burgess XX-45) battery. Model PL-420A uses the smaller battery National BL-145B (Eveready 457, RCA VS-082, Burgess K-45) - probably the cabinets differ in the internal layout or exterior dimensions.
