National RQ158S Tape Recorder
Portable battery-operated tape recorder with automatic reverse, two speeds, twin tracks, push-button control and capstan drive.
Features: a fully automatic system permitting the direction of the tape to be changed instantly by pushing a button, or by attaching a sensitising tape to the magnetic tape at the point the user wants the tape to reverse.
Automatic voice operation - recorder stops and start when user starts or stops speaking into the microphone. Remote control bar-type microphone.
Fast forward and rewind buttons. Separate volume and tone controls; cue button and recording level battery chack meter; digital tape counter.
Auxiliary input; AC power adaptor and extension jacks. Speeds: 3¾ and 1⅞ ips; recording on 5" reels gives up to 2 hrs at 1⅞ ips. Frequency response: 120 - 8,000 c/s (Hz) at 3¾ ips: 120 - 5,000 c/s (Hz) at 1⅞ ips. Speaker, 6" x 3". OPerates from six Type UM1 cells (9V). Recording system AC bias.
