- Notes
- Model 38-38T uses a combination B/C dry battery for +135, +90, and -3 V, and a dry or storage A battery for 2 V. The Philco model 38-38 series uses a 6-tube 2-band battery powered chassis. For the filament supply, either a 2-volt storage battery may be used, or a dry battery (presumably 3 volts) with a type 1F1 ballast lamp plugged into a socket on the battery pack to lower the voltage to 2 volts.
There are four individual models in the series with different cabinet styles. Model 38-38T (1937-38) is a table radio. Model 38-38K (1937) is a console with a vertical control panel flush with the front of the cabinet, and a non-inclined speaker grill. Model 38-38F (1937) is another console with a slightly recessed control panel and an inclined sounding board. Model 38-38XF (1938) is a third console design with a sloping control panel.
