  • The Philco model 38-89 series uses a 6-tube 2-band chassis. There are versions for 115 VAC 50-60 Hz, 115 VAC 25-40 Hz, and 115/220 VAC 50-60 Hz.

    There are three individual models in the series with different cabinet styles. Model 38-89B (1937-38) is a tombstone. Model 38-89K (1937) is a console with a vertical control panel. Model 38-89XF (1938) is a different console design with a sloping control panel.

    Stein "Cathedral & Tombstone Radios" shows a model "89B" with 3 knobs only.
