- There are two consoles in the Philco model 40-185 series: Model 40-185XX (1939) has an inclined panel and inclined sounding board. Model 40-185XF (1940) is similar in appearance, but has a non-inclined sounding board with fluted cylindrical molding on the sides of the speaker grill.
