Difference between model 42-PT-26 from 1942 and model PT-26 from 1940 is the size of the letters on the dial scale. The picture in Ramirez' book at page 133 is model 42-PT-26 and not the earlier model PT-26 as stated (personal communication Ron Ramirez).
Model 42-PT26 has a tuning range from 540 to 1580 kHz, dial scale ends with 150
