  • The model 71 series had many variations. There were seven cabinet styles, as indicated by the suffix of the main model number: 71B is a cathedral (sometimes called "Baby Grand"), 71L is a lowboy, 71H is a highboy, 71D is a highboy with dual-speakers and doors, and 71X is a console with inclined sounding board, 71LZ is a chairside, and there is also a 71 Grandfather clock (cabinet similar to the previous model 570 Grandfather clock). The single speaker versions use a code 121 chassis, and the dual speaker 71D uses a code 221 chassis. Power supply requirements are indicated by the chassis type, with 71 for 115 VAC 50-60 Hz, 71A for 115 VAC 25-40 Hz, and 71E for 230 VAC 50-60 Hz. Late versions (1933) included a shadow meter (tuning aid).
