  • Notes
  • The record player of the Philco 3403 Tropic Combo has two tonearms, one for LP and the other for 78 rpm records & a mechanism for multiple automatic record playback - it is a record changer. The record player lid measures: 395 mm length and 405 mm width. This is a rare tube combination. The first 4 tubes uses for instance Tital 482 and 492 in Switzerland, but no other models could be found in a total of 210 thousand models with this combination, maybe later one will be added. Also the two tone arms and the multiple automatic record playback is probably seldom. The set has been found in Greece. The model receives the broadcast band (550 to 1600 kc) plus short waves in 4 bands, starting at 2.5 mc (or a bit less) and ending at 27 mc.
