  • Notes
  • These Philco Dipole and Wire Outdoor Aerials were designed to receive the newly shifted FM broadcast band 88-108 MHz.

From 1932-1946 the FM band was assigned to 42-50 MHz.  After 1946, the FM band was moved to 88-108 MHz and FM stations were ordered to start broadcasting as soon as possible on the new band, which most did before 1948.

The Service Bulletin listed includes installation instructions for these aerials as well as the additional parts required.  The dipole aerials have the advantage of a short aerial, good for window, roof, or mast mounting.  Note that some radio couplers listed claim to improve AM standard broadcast reception with these aerials.

The types of aerial designs are as follows:

    Dipole Aerial: 45-1462.
    Outdoor Aerial (long wire): 45-1469.
    Outdoor Aerial (long wire): 45-1494.
    Dipole Aerial: 45-2926.
