  • The Philips 400A is a 5-valve, 3-band superhet designed to operate from the AC mains of 100 to 250 V, 50 Hz.

    The waveband ranges are:

    • SW: 16.5 – 64.5 m
    • MW: 185 – 580 m
    • LW: 715 – 2,000 m

    The Model 500A is similar but in a wooden cabinet, and with the addition of a tuning indicator.

    The 400A was released in August 1950.

    The Stella ST120A used the same chassis and was released in mid-1951.
