  • Philips Cassette Service Set 801/CSS, 
    contains a measuring instrument for checking the speed of a cassette recorder tape drive and the record / playback heads and a 812/MCT test cassette with a 50 Hz and 8 kHz track.
    For testing and adjusting the speed of a cassette recorder the tape with the 50 Hz track is inserted in the recorder. The signal from the loudspeaker output is compared with the 50 Hz mains frequency in the measuring section of the 801/CSS.
    With the test cassette with the 8 kHz track the heads of a cassette recorder may be checked and adjusted.
