Philips EL3542A Tape Recorder
A high quality four-track three-speed tape recorder suitable for domestic or semi-professional use.
Features four-track reel to reel system offering playlng time on three international speeds - 2400 ft of tape of 16 hours at 1⅞" per second, eight hours at 3¾" per second and four hours at 7½' per second. Simple track selection switch.
Extended frequency range - 50~20,000 c/s (Hz) at 7½ inches/second, 50~15,000 c/s (Hz) at 3¾ inches/second, 50~7,000 c/s (Hz) at 1⅞ lnches/ second "Piano-key" push-button controls give simple and foolproof operation.
Mixing facilities with separate volume controls for each input. Monitoring facility. Trickswitch (superimposing or dubbing facility). Four-digital programme indicator. Pause button with interlock facility. Standby button. Fast wind and rewind with friction braking. Public address facility. Automatic stop with metallised leader tape. Recording level and on-off indicator EM81 (magic eye). Tone control (high frequencies downwards). Second channel pre-amplifler output for stereo playback. Signal to noise ratio is better than 54 db. Wow and flutter is less than ± 3% (peak to peak) .
