Philips "La Scala" Model 887
An imported multi-band stereophonic radiogram having 23 valves, one diode and tuning indicator; incorporates a tape recorder for playback of monaural or stereo tapes or recording from radio, pick-up or microphone; four speed record changer.
Cabinet in walnut with sycamore trim. Features: Five wavebands (with infinite bandspread); full coverage from 550 to 11 metres, (545 kC/s (kHz) ~ 28.5 MC/s (MHz)) push-button controls, flywheel tuning. "Fideloscope" (indicates amplifier loading level), magic-eye tuning indicator. Rotatable "Ferroceptor" with front controls.
Speakers: six built-in and two separate high-note projectors; total output 20W. Separate treble and bass boost controls with visual fidelity indicators.
Tape Deck: three speed, push-button controlled; input level indicator. Record changer: four-speed automatic; magneto-dynamic pick-up and built-in stroboscope; push-button controlled; tropic proofed chassis. (FROM MINGAY'S PRICE SERVICE)
