A stereo hi-fi integrated amplifier with output power of 70 watts RMS per channel into 8 ohms or 95 watts RMS per channel into 4 ohms, housed in a black or silver metal case (the latter available in West Germany only is referred to as the A-656-S model in the Service Manual). Push button switches for Loudness, Adapt/Tape3 and Direct, rotary Bass and Treble tone controls, rotary switches for Speakers (Off, A, B, A+B), Rec Selector (Tape 2→1, Tape 1→2, Source, Off, CD, Tuner), Input Selector (Tape2, DAT/Tape1, CD, Phono, Tuner and Line), and Phono Selector (MC Subsonic, MC, MM, MM Subsonic) and a jack for Phones. On the back, RCA phono input sockets for CD, Tuner, Line and Phono, input/output sockets for DAT/Tape1 and Tape2, input/output sockets for Tape3 or for connection to an equalizer, terminals for two pairs of Loudspeakers (A, B) and 3 AC outlets on the General Export model.
