  • Notes
  • Guiniphone portable gramophone, 1929. One of the most ingenious portables of the 1920s, known as the "Polly Portable", the name under which it was sold in America. The Guiniphone was a British copy and there are variations in the design printed on the folding membrane (basically the speaker). This example has a wooden case covered in leather, but there are others with entirely metal cases.

Original description from: “Fonografi e Grammofoni” by Christopher Proudfoot, Italian edition “Silvana Editoriale” 1980.

A similar model is the Polly Portable Phonograph.

Grammofono portatile Guiniphone, 1929.
