Transportable AC/DC mains receiver in a two-tone walnut cabinet with a carrying handle on top.
1940 to 1942 on many UK models Edge connect (P8) are replaced with otherwise identical Octal (IO). sometimes even US imports rather than BVA production. In 1945 Mullard issued instructions on how to replace P8 valves with Octal and cross reference table.

It states here, and in the Trader sheet, that V2 is an EF39 (Octal base). However, in my example it is an EF9 (Side contact) valve.
