  • On the front: tuning knob, with fine tuning knob inside, and on the top right operating range little window; knobs for AFC on/off, tone, volume. Right side, 4 waveband selector; left side, earphone socket and for external power supply. 
    On the back, access to the battery compartment.
    On the top, telescopic antenna, retractable inside, 8 sections, 77 cm and rigid handle, without excursion.
    Ferrite 16 cm. Speaker with the following indications: AS-037, 1W - 8 Ω 

    Note:  The 1969 and 1970 Radio Shack catalogs show a very similar radio using the same model number (12-1432).  The differences are that the catalog model has 12 transistors, multi-colored dial, and is called a "Traveler".  The "Globe Spanner" model show here may have been an earlier version with limited production.
