The RCA 8-X-51 is an AC/DC operated 5 Tube AM receiver. AM Band Tuning Range: 540 to 1600KHz.
The following models use the same schematic and cabinet but have different cabinet colors:
Model Cabinet Colors 8-X-51 Maroon 8-X-51J Cloud Gray The RCA Service Data Datasheet has service information for the following models: 8-X-5 series, the 8-X-6 series and model 8-X-51. The 8-X-51J model was added later and is documented in the "RCA Radio and Victrola Service Tips Volume 1X, Issue 6 dated July 10, 1958".
The 8-X-5 series and 8-X-51 series are similar and use the same style cabinet and chassis (RC-1170). The 8-X-6 series have a different cabinet, use a different chassis (RC-1178), have a push-pull ON-OFF switch and have a dial light (Mazda #1847).
